Minimalist Explorations in Texture and Organic Forms
My work arises from a commitment to bring warmth to a minimalist aesthetic. Visible textures, simplified irregular forms, and organic shapes play integral roles in every design, accentuating evidence of the human touch.
The jewelry designs stem from my studio art practice. Materials used in my artwork served as the initial inspiration for the jewelry collection, as the first necklaces were made from leftover hand-dyed yarn and textiles from my studio. The pieces have since evolved, but the fine art and jewelry design practices continue to inform one another.
I have an MFA in painting and drawing and am a self-taught jewelry designer. All works are created by hand in my studio in Houston, Texas.
